SUMMARY:Romantic Goals: Supporting the People You Serve
DESCRIPTION:Training Description: \nDating and romance are at the center of many people’s goals when they seek mental health treatment. Yet\, conventional wisdom in the traditional mental health system often advises that a person waits until they are “healthier” or avoid this goal all together. So\, how can you\, as a mental health provider\, still work with the people you serve on the very human desire to love and be loved? \nIn this training\, Emily Grossman will talk about her own successful journey as a person who perused romance and recovery from a mental health condition simultaneously. She will then look at how she has provided peer support to many clients and supported them in their goals around love and romance. Finally\, she will speak to how you can work on the goal of dating and relationships with the people that you serve. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand what healthy romance can look like for the people we serve\nUnderstand the concept of duty to care vs. dignity of risk and how this related. to a goal of romance\n\nApply a shared decision-making framework to support the goal of healthy romance \nRegistration Link:  Register
